Abhaya offers a multi faceted and comprehensive range of psychiatric, rehabilitative and counselling services designed for the underprivileged people of the society, namely the mentally ill patients, helpless women, deprived girl children and victims of alcohol and drugs.
Abhayagramam, situated in the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is instrumental in providing psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, skills development and training of the mentally ill patients. More than 80 girls who were abandoned or from lowest income groups are given shelter, rehabilitation, education under the State Government Scheme and vocational training courses. For the victims of alcohol and drug abuse, Abhaya has a free de-addiction centre and counselling centre to help overcome their dependence on alcohol and drugs.
Athani, a home for the destitute women in Vanchiyoor, Thiruvananthapuram provides the women with all sorts of facilities and gives training to ensure employment and to escape from poverty. Abhaya has a 24 hours Helpline for women who are facing crisis situations. Abhaya also provides medical and legal aid to women in distress.
